Live from The Professional Developers Conference 2009 Day 2

pdc 2009Here we are Live at PDC 2009 again this morning for keynote day 2! After talking to some great people yesterday at the conference and going out for drinks afterward, I just may still be a little drunk still! I do have some bad news, we may be at the wrong place too! Wrong Place?

Google just announced this morning that a special Chrome OS event will be held at its headquarters in Mountain View, CA tomorrow morning! Considering Chrome OS has Microsoft freaking out lately, there will most likely be some shocking news released! Will this keynote day 2 bring up any surprise Windows 8 News? I wish! I also wish I could make it to the Google release, but if you are interested in the Google OS news check Windows 8 Forums for updates on the Google chrome OS tomorrow! So.. PDC 2009!

What does the PDC keynote have planned for us today? Scheduled to speak: Steven Sinofsky, Scott Guthrie, and Kurt Delbene! Steven Sinofsky is the man responsible for Windows 7 and the future and reason this site exists with Windows 8! Scott Guthrie with more coder .net and cloud stuff most likely, and probably Kurt Delbene with some Office 2010 or sharepoint magic! There are also reports of Internet explorer 9, in my opinion, whoopee  who doesn’t use Firefox these days? They better come up with some amazing improvements that shadow the nasty attempt at Internet explorer six and the shakeup seven caused!

8:30am PT: First to the stage: Steven Sinofsky! What have we learned about Windows 7? Today they will talk about the development of Windows 7,  and looking into the future! Development began with Users, they love to comment on how Microsoft should improve the operating system! Well, Lots of good suggestions came from the users with over 6,000 comments and over 10,000 e-mails! blah blah powerpoint slide… telemetry? wtf.. okay.. yeah yeah software quality, lets get to the good stuff!

8:45am PT: They better have something killer at the end of this presentation! Throwing a bunch of useless numbers on unique applications (883,612), how many printers(14,057),  Start Menu Clicks (512,253,176)  they counting dring the  windows 7 during beta… no shit, you guys tested the software! Congratulations Microsoft, your testing your software! No bugs right?

9:10am PT: Sinofsky wakes up the crowd with free laptops for all paid attendees! stats of the laptop: Intel Core 2 Duo U2300 w/ Mobile Intel processor, 2GB ram (up to 8GB) 250GB 2.5″ HDD with muilti-card reader, and 802.11 a/n/g/n, gigabit LAN, and bluetooth! 9:55am PT: Scott Hanselman makes it to the stage next, principal program manager for the developer division at Microsoft best known for doing public speaking for Microsoft as he is one of those few developers to can relate with the other developers? 10:30am PT: Office 2010 beta, Sharepoint… brings everyone together and happy! Can we market the same stuff any more? Nothing really to report on that other than Office Mobile will be available along with the Office 2010 beta. Yeah, not much going on… will we see a big finalize with Windows 8 details or Zune 3D??

11:00am PT: That’s it Folks!! Thanks for checking in Live as it happened! Keep checking back as we’ll have many updates on our interrogations of anyone we can find!
