The Microsoft Windows 8 team probably had a strategy defined before they were even brought on to build Windows 8. How much say does the development team have on altering the strategy? Can they even have some free thinking on improvements?

We continue to look through blogs, forums, and other anonymous sources of reliable information to find hints and clues to the actual Windows 8 strategy. A few leaks coming out tell stories of employees being overworked and extremely busy. Of course Microsoft isn’t the first company to challenge their employees by pushing their limits.

Windows 8 builds so far seem to focus heavily on Microsoft’s live strategy and excessive idea grabbing from Apple. Obviously we’ll continue to investigate these particular issues. With Windows 8 build milestones getting near, we should see some sensitive strategy information leak out within the next few weeks! We will continue to deliver Windows 8 in the most honest, open, and transparent way we can! Stay Tuned, Windows 8 is not far away!

Microsoft is giving everyone gifts for Windows 8. These gifts are of course pre-installed applications that come with the default install of Windows 8. These are powerful tools that acknowledge & contribute to creativity and insight of Windows 8 users. The default tools within the Windows 8 install will be basic, but offer upgrades using micro payments to give you added bonuses and features.

Probably additional add-on third party tools can also be downloaded from a marketplace. I foresee anyone designing applications for Windows 8 will submit their projects to this Windows 8 3rd party marketplace.  Will this be gladly accepted? We think so. Windows 8 will offer the community videos to learn these new tools, inspire you to create powerful projects! The true gift of Windows 8 is helping you learn, making you an artist!

Hopefully this dream doesn’t get destroyed and we end up with a smaller less innovative push into the future with Windows 8.

What is our responsibility to our audience? Our job is provoke you into asking hard questions. Make you think! Of course, we’ll continue to focus on Windows 8! The direction of Windows 8 depends on people like you!

What makes Windows 8 worth talking about? It touches us all and we fear the unknowns of what Windows 8 will change! Will it make us faster and more flexible? Will it be hard to learn? Can I use Windows 8 for entertainment? Will it change my life by removing everyday tasks?

All these questions we are looking to answer for Windows 8, like a TV episode of Lost! We are dying for some Windows 8 answers! The best response we can offer right now is Microsoft takes moves very slowly on designing something new. They come up with great ideas and hold off on implementing those ideas, I’d assume the same will be done with Windows 8. Security gets improved, the graphical user interface changes a little bit, just enough that you love the new packaging and want to buy it! Windows 8 will be Windows 7 with a patch.

What else is worth talking about Windows 8? The design process! The thoughts behind the architecture! Do they think like the end users or the developer? Will Windows 8 be worth its weight in gold? What justifies the increase in prices?

Basically we are all looking to be impressed with Windows 8 in our own form. We want overkill for everything! Good luck Microsoft, we’ll help you with ideas.

How do you judge success? What are you judging the success of Windows 8 on? I often hear: Ease of usage, fewer clicks, better software or cooler games. Almost everything lies on the graphical interface and software that works well with the operating system. It is estimated that there will be more than two billion PCs in use by 2015.* Imagine that environmental impact if 75% of these computers use Microsoft’s Windows 8. If designed even slightly more power hungry then they could be what waste would that create?

Should Microsoft spend more time researching better options for little things? I could point out any major company with a global product, but Windows 8 will be my example, since this is a Windows 8 blog.

Windows 8 planning stage will make the difference between good and great, yet they let few know how they structure the process! Tell the people what they should hear: that Microsoft is working hard and remains much focused on the task! If the management team takes the time, turns off the electronics, and just gets together and thinks I think they could change the world with Windows 8, like Windows 95 did.

With the slow economy and fights at all costs to be more frugal definitely doesn’t help evolve new ideas, just improve efficiency. Does the Windows 8 meditate on new ideas, push away the pains of corporate reality and just ignore everyone not on the team? We are time-starved, competitive, and the distractions within the workplace are great challenges. How does Microsoft go about isolating the Windows 8 decision makers? What is the relationship with Microsoft and the peer to peer file sharing protocol BitTorrent? Could they use this to their advantage with Windows 8?

Their past actions have shown they will use their legal staff to stop piracy. It is well documented many torrent sites receive “cease and desist” letters from Microsoft. Windows 8 could use a more advanced protocol such as bit torrent for much performance increases on downloads! The debate of Windows 8 having BitTorrent itself does not offer a search facility to find files by name, therefore links to these torrents need to be centralized on a Windows 8 Server or hosted my Microsoft directly. Windows 8 education edition should be a new edition added to the future line of Microsoft’s operating system Windows 8. Microsoft has major impacts on the global market, the biggest guiding student education. Computers evolved education from primarily teachers with books to learning using computers assisted by teachers.

Why shouldn’t we have a Windows 8 education edition? The percentage of classrooms with Internet access has gone from 3 percent in 1994 to 63 percent in 1999. In 2003, 100 percent of American schools had access to the Internet! With 100%, Microsoft should use its power of technology to improve education with Windows 8. Windows 8 should work with other companies to bring the best tools straight to the desktop, cut out all the bullshit and get learning!

Give the Windows 8 education edition away for free! Microsoft will gain money from businesses using other editions of Windows 8. Even home users should be allowed Windows 8 education edition with the option to increase features at a cost. We would even suggest offering canned courses accessible directly from the desktop. Enough allowing underachievement, imagine the possibilities and educate the world!

You hope and pray Microsoft will make a decent Windows 8 for you. The problem is people don’t think like you. We are all the only one of its kind and like politics we all think different, we want different things. Windows 8 needs to make everyone happy to maintain the market share of its operating systems of the past. We all wish to be unique and focus on separating ourselves from others.

Should they focus on a more narrow market? How should they segment the markets? I could see Windows 8 customizing the operating system into focus markets based on behavior, geographical, political, or focus on business types compared to home users. Make the kernel compatibility between each customized region easy and options to switch Windows 8’s focus (for example ‘American to European’)

Why does Microsoft keep a majority? They don’t add many features; it’s easier that way to maintain a majority. Does Microsoft really need Windows 8 as a majority market share? I think everyone would be better off splitting Windows 8 into different projects. Ultimately, you probably won’t be completely satisfied, because you want what others don’t. That’s Life!
